Text on screen: WEBSTER UNIVERSITY PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT: Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Text on screen: Steve Hinson, MBA Program Director
[Footage of Steve Hinson being interviewed.]
Steve Hinson: The whole curriculum is about value creation, even beginning from the very first course, which is titled Value Creation.
Text on screen: VALUE CREATION
Every course needs to point toward the same goal.
[Lengthy montage of photos with various students learning.]
The marketing class you take, that's all about creating value for customers. In finance, we're talking about how we create value for shareholders, how we measure value. In the capstone, we're looking at how we measure value more broadly, how is it affecting workers, the environment, and of course, how is it affecting the bottom line?
[Another montage, but with unique stock photos intertwined with pieces of Steve Hinson鈥檚 interview.]
For a classic MBA program, what you 鈥 what you typically find, the courses were very siloed. The finance class really has nothing to do with your marketing class or your work behavior class. And then it's really up to the student after they finish the MBA program to try to integrate this knowledge and figure out how all these pieces fit together.
Having this thematic approach to the program makes the program a lot more coherent.
Text on screen: One global MBA program, MULTIPLE MODALITIES
[Images depicting logging into Webster鈥檚 Connections or scrolling Webster鈥檚 website on various platforms such as on a laptop or a smart phone.]
We've actually developed all of the course content upfront, so every student is interacting with that online content, and 黑料网, no matter what the modality.
[A third montage of students studying in different locations mixed with more sections of Steve Hinson鈥檚 interview shot.]
We offer the MBA program in three modalities now. We offer the traditional on ground.
Text on screen: 1. In Person
We offer classes by Zoom, what we call WebNet+. And then we offer fully online classes, which are completely asynchronous classes.
Text on screen: 3. Fully Online
[Another montage of students learning, studying or talking and professors teaching with Steve Hinson鈥檚 interview in between shots.]
Regardless of the modality you choose at 黑料网, everyone shares the same course content. We've got this really robust platform. We designed it very carefully with the instructional designers. It's very accessible. Go online, you learn it, engage with it, and then come to class, let鈥檚 talk about it.
Text on screen: A diverse network of PRACTITIONER FACULTY
Really, what class is about, is the three Cs. We are coming for clarification, for context and for collaboration.
Text on screen: clarification, context, collaboration
Our faculty add context, helping students understand the applicability of the knowledge. The instructor is a subject matter expert. We'll make it make sense, but hopefully we can get passed that pretty quickly because the real value to you is that we provide the context:
How does this apply to my job? How does this apply to what I'm reading? How does this apply to companies I know and experiences as both consumer or as an employee? Really understand how this applies in the real world, so that how it applies for you.
Text on screen: An innovative approach to BUSINESS EDUCATION
[The photos and interview shot montage continues.]
What a business does is it takes existing resources and combines them to create something of greater value. We鈥檙e creating value for our customers, creating value for owners and we're creating value for all the other relevant stakeholders.
And everything always points toward that singular purpose. If you're interested in getting an MBA, you're trying to figure out how can I gain a lot of experience and a lot of knowledge very quickly so that I can speed up my career trajectory.
All the courses are really focused on how does business and the activities of business all coordinate with each other synergistically to create value for all of these relevant stakeholders so that no matter where you are in the organization, we want you to be able to see: Okay, how do I fit in? Why do I exist? What it is that I'm trying to accomplish? What are we trying to accomplish together?

Jones: My name is Terhea Jones. I am in the Management and Leadership program, and I'm expected to graduate in the Fall of 2020.
[Footage of commencement ceremonies, classroom settings with students and professors interacting, the outside of several buildings where classes are offered in the St. Louis metro area, hands on keyboards typing, the Webster Groves campus with the St. Louis city in the background landscape, etc.]
Jones: I thought going back to school at this time in my life would be difficult, but I have enjoyed it so much. The staff here is very accommodating. They answer my questions in a timely fashion. I like the several different locations that you can take the classes at, and I also like the online classes. It is a great opportunity to further your education just by taking online classes. I plan to use my degree in Management and Leadership to move my career forward in my business. I could see myself being in Management and Leadership at a higher level, to learn how to manage the job but lead individuals as opposed to just have an undergraduate degree from another university.

Text on screen: Julie Palmer, Professor
[Julie Palmer speaks toward camera.]
Palmer: There's two HR focus graduate programs. They share some of the same classes but with each degree, you are focusing on becoming an expert in Human Resource Management.
Text on screen: Human Resources Management (MA)
[Footage of various classrooms with students talking.]
Palmer: So with the HRMG program, you take classes including a basic finance for managers class, an employment law class, compensation and benefits, and then, of course, a capstone course, which synthesizes all of those courses and helps the person understand what their role would be working in a company working in HR.
Our graduate program really gets people to think more critically about how to be a person change agent in an organization which is, in essence, an HR manager.
Text on screen: Human Resources Development (MA)
[Footage of classroom settings with students talking and collaborating.]
Development means training. We're really trying to train you to be able to train other people. Group and organizational development, sharpening people's skills to become influencers in an organization. We're trying to teach students to be able to share their ideas with large groups maybe in an organization.
Text on screen: A Diverse Network of Practitioner Faculty
Text on screen: Kevin Gitonga Adjunct Faculty
[Gitonga speaks toward camera.]
Gitonga: I teach primarily three classes in the Human Resource Development program, namely Introduction to human resource development, training and development and then the capstone project.
[Gitonga and Palmer address audience.]
Gitonga: We also have a very diverse pool of instructors, some of whom are full-time academics and others who are professionals in industry.
[Footage shows a variety of classrooms and professors. Palmer speaks to audience.]
Palmer: Which we feel like gives our students an edge. Because we want our students to get the experience of somebody who has actually been working in that area. We look for practitioners who have experience in compensation and benefits. Lawyers teach the employment law class. Who better to take an employment law class than from somebody who is actually practicing law.
[Footage of more classrooms with lots of students and professors talking, learning and collaborating.]
Text on screen: An innovative approach to Management, Training and Development
Palmer: Students that have a passion for wanting to learn how to be a better change agent, be a better employee relations specialist, are those students that end up in our program. Whether you're working on the training aspect, whether you're working on the benefits aspect, whether you're working on the communication with employee鈥檚 aspect 鈥 we're really trying to help students hone those skills.

Text on screen: Program Spotlight: Cybersecurity Degree Program
Text on screen: James Curtis, PhD, Chair, Computer and Information Sciences Department
James Curtis: Our program is one of the most unique programs in the United States. Very few schools have three different master's degrees in cybersecurity, or data analytics, or any of them. But in this particular one, we have three different cybersecurity degrees.
First one is our Master of Science in Cybersecurity Operations, and it's for people who are in the operations area of cybersecurity management leadership.
Text on screen: CYBERSECURITY OPERATIONS (MS)
The other two degrees are very unique. The first one is the Master of Science in Cybersecurity, with an Emphasis in Artificial Intelligence.
Text on screen: Emphasis in ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
The program is very tailored toward merging artificial intelligence, machine learning and cybersecurity, which is really a unique kind of field that we're moving into as technology advances. The other degree is the Master of Science and Cybersecurity, with an Emphasis in Data Analytics.
Text on screen: Emphasis in DATA ANALYTICS
We've taken those two disciplines and really made them complement, putting them together.
[Footage of student walking down a sidewalk at 黑料网]
[Footage of 黑料网 banner waving in the wind with Browning Hall in the background at sunset]
Text on screen: Maoting Z. Student
Maoting Z.: Webster was the first few schools that started a cybersecurity program, and I do prefer to learn from the school who started the program first, 鈥榗ause they have more experience.
Text on screen: Flexible Learning: Earn your Degree in Multiple Modalities
Curtis: For all three of our master's degrees, we offer multi-modality. We offer online, on ground, web net plus or a mix.
[Footage of student working on a laptop, cut to footage of cybersecurity professor teaching an in-person class in a classroom, cut to two students working on a laptop together smiling]
Maoting: The thing about having online classes is you can manage your time, right? You know, things do happen like, you do get sick. You do have emergencies.
[Footage of a student working on a laptop, doing Webster coursework online]
Curtis: People travel a lot, shouldn鈥檛-shouldn't be worried about enrolling because we can get to them wherever they are.
[Footage of student taking a Webster course on a tablet]
Text on screen: Dynamic Learning: Evolving to Meet Today鈥檚 Challenges
One of the things about being in the discipline of cybersecurity is the fact that we always change. Our curriculum is never the same.
[Footage of professor and students working hands-on with a server in a cybersecurity class]
As a matter of fact, I don't remember ever having a curriculum from one semester to the next that was the same. As the new threats evolve, we-we respond, we develop new capabilities. We have to teach our students that.
Maoting: I do feel like how Webster teaches us is definitely lead us to success.
[Footage of professor presenting a lesson in a classroom]
They show us more than one way of how to solve the problem and how people think about the problem in cybersecurity.
Curtis: One of the things we're very proud of is our adjunct instructor cadre.
Text on screen: Experience from PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SECTORS
We have teachers that come from government, military, FBI, police departments.
Maoting: They have a different perspective, because they have working different companies, different fields.
[Footage of professor working one-on-one with students in classroom]
So when we ask some general question about internship, about 鈥渉ow do I apply for a job?鈥 I would just email my professors, and they always give me answers and support me.
[Footage of students working together on various projects and smiling]
Curtis: I think that Webster's programs and what we offer our students, no one comes close to what we do from the standpoint of quality, flexibility and capability.
